When we talk about family out here, we aren't talking about a line item in a government budget. We are talking about the most fundamental unit of our society and the people we would do anything to protect.
Your primary responsibilities as a parent don't change. Your job is to protect your family, provide for them, and make the decisions about how your children will be raised.
Lately, it feels like those basic rights are constantly under assault.
Protecting your family means ensuring our neighborhoods remain safe and knowing you have the right to defend your home and your loved ones without government interference. Providing for them means having the freedom to work hard and keep what you earn so your household can stand on its own two feet.
Most importantly, raising a family means that parents are the ultimate authority on their children's upbringing. Moms and dads, not government institutions or school boards, should be making the choices about their kids' education, health, and moral foundation. The state didn't give you your children, and the state has no right to dictate how you raise them.
We want to hand the next generation a world where they are freer, safer, and completely secure in their rights. Government needs to respect the boundaries of the home and let parents do their job.
We believe that we have the right to defend our homes, provide for our kids, and decide how they are raised.
That's Montana common sense.
